My artifact is my smartphone. It is called iPhone. Especially my iPhone is called 12 Promax. The name "Promax" indicates that it is a little larger than normal. It is about 16 cm long, 8 cm wide, and 7 cm thick. The larger size also means that it is heavier, weighing 226 grams. And there are 4 different colors, in my case its color is blue. The greatest feature is the three cameras on the back. This makes this iPhone get the highest level of camera functionality. Next, I will talk how I acquired this iPhone. I have been using this smartphone for about two years. The reason for this was my acceptance to college. “I’ll buy a new smartphone.” “Really?!” “Which one do you want?” “ I have big hands, so I want a large size Pro max. “ Thus I got my current phone. I was first surprised at the difference in performance, as I had used a cheaper smartphone when I was in high school. I remember that the price was quite expensive for what it was. Since then, I have taken pictures of many memorable moments and now have thousands of pictures in the smartphone's photo folder. Photographs are a great way to look back on those days. Sometimes I look at old photos and get very emotional. My smartphone has become a one-of-a-kind treasure filled with my memories. After using my phone on a daily basis, I have come to a point in my life where I can't let go of my phone. As we all know we can do almost anything with our phones. Because of this, the majority of the population now has a smartphone. Especially for young people, it is indispensable, as it is a daily communication tool and the source of many trends and culture through SNS. This situation has given rise to a new social disease called "smartphone addiction. This is a social problem that has been covered by many media outlets, and there is concern that it may become even more serious. This disease is most common among young people, and of course, I am no exception. However, for those of us young people who use smartphones on a daily basis, there is honestly no choice for most of us not to use smartphones. It is not that smartphones are 100% bad, but it is possible to get so absorbed in it that you lose sight of your surroundings. There have been some not-so-small incidents of students using their phones for SNS and games. Therefore, it is necessary to provide children with proper education and guidance from an early age to prevent them from growing up in the wrong direction.

  1. Good evening, Masato. Nice to meet you.
I was similarly given a new smartphone when I was accepted to college. I was equally surprised at the difference in performance. In addition to that, I remember how happy I was to see that my very precious memories had been transferred in a clean and beautiful way.
I know that the story of smartphone addiction is getting more serious with each passing day, as it is dealt with a lot in the English text of the common test. Many people, including myself, should reevaluate how to deal with smartphones from now on.
